Taurus
Taurus
the female domicile of Venus
Taurus is a methodical, devoted and persistent sign that pays attention to every step of their way, has a specific plan and follows it. They don't like surprises or adventures. With its feet firmly planted on the ground, this sign enjoys calmness and reliability in arrangements and relationships. It is loyal and always ready to lend a hand but only after it has built some trust for the person.
At the core of the Taurean philosophy about life is the concept of stability. Everything these people invest in - people or projects - tends to last for long long time. Maybe even a lifetime. They are set in their ways and will not be the first ones to jump on a new trend. They uphold traditions and orthodox ways of doing things.
This is a sign associated with hedonism. Taurus people like to enjoy the good things in life - good food, expensive wines, satin bed linen - and as a result, they may spend long periods of their life lazing and gazing under the beaming rays of the sun, seemingly not doing anything. But when they set their eyes on a goal, they know how to work persistently and methodically to build the empire they dream of. Once they have decided on a course of action nothing (and I mean it) can make them change their mind, their plan or their decision. They take stubbornness to a whole new level. It takes them a while to decide to act, but when they do - it's a done deal, this ship has sailed.
When they begin a new undertaking they are unlikely to make a splash. They are not majestic Leos or aggressive Aries. They are a fixed sign that is slow to start but sure to finish. People, deadlines and circumstances cannot rush the Bull to move faster than their natural speed. Taureans, more than any other sign, are intimately linked to the rhythm of nature. Their speed is just the right speed for things to grow solid. Their steady efforts will bring the results that will not only be plentiful but also long-lasting.
Taurus people are creatures of habit. They live rooted in their ways. Routine provides the framework within which they tackle the events of life. As mentioned earlier, their core concern is stability and habits are the backbone of that. They are what gives Taureans that aura of calm and serenity.
This sign is the very definition of down-to-Earth. They have unusually high levels of common sense and they won't risk their stability over dreams, ideals or vague promises. They are solid in both their pledges and their expectations. Imagine a Taurus person like a mountain - how easy is it to make it jump, shift, twist and turn? That's how changeable Taureans are.
Taurus people work towards a materially comfortable life full of sensual pleasures. They highly appreciate all the fine things in life and don't hesitate to enjoy them to the fullest with all their senses. "Luxurious, yet practical" is their motto.
In relationships, they look for a reliable partner with whom they can build a comfortable and predictable life. Home life is the bed-rock of all life so Taureans need it to be stable and harmonious. They know how to build stable things so once married, they rarely divorce. They can be quite possessive, after all this sign is preoccupied with possessions and partners can easily fall in this category. Partners who are too wishy-washy or whose life is too chaotic are deemed unsuitable.
Taurus is here to teach the rest of the zodiac about the importance of methodological build-up of the material foundation of our lives. Much as contemporary culture tends to see materialism as a negative trait, Taurus is here to say that it is just a normal part of life.
