The Astrology of Sag Season (2022)
The Narrative Shifts
This Sag Season is the moment the narrative shifts quite notably.
For one thing, the Saturn-Uranus square that we have lived under for the past two years is now falling apart "forever". At the start of Sag Season on November 22, the two planets - Saturn (limitations, restrictions, demands to be more mature and conservative in your approach) and Uranus (impulse towards freedom, rebellion, erratic chaos) - will be 3 degrees apart, and we will end the season when they are already 6 degrees apart. Throughout the season, Saturn will be more and more speedily going towards Pisces, while Uranus is slowly Rx-ing back to mid-Taurus where it was in May. So the struggle between the demands of the practical world and our inner need to break free is settling. We are officially done with this square! Lean back and enjoy the sight of this challenging energy disspating in the background. :)
In the next 30 days, a quite different energy will take over - both Jupiter and Neptune will go direct. Jupiter, the planet of expansion, opportunities and optimism, will conclude its annual Rx motion on November 23rd, just a few minutes after this year's New Moon in Sag. Neptune, the planet of dreams, illusions and, as I like to call them, beautiful hangovers, will go direct about 10 days later, on December 4th.
Both Jupiter and Neptune are slow-moving, big planets that influence larger chapters in our lives and until the end of Sag Season, they will both be moving direct in Pisces bringing us back to the energy of April this year. In fact, it will be on the last day of Sag Season that Jupiter will cross the cusp of 0 degrees Aries. Until then, it will still be bringing blessings to the Pisces houses of our charts.
As the Sun moves into Sag, it will (together with Mercury and Venus) begin to oppose Mars Rx in Gemini and square Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces thereby highlighting the tension between Mars and Neptune/Jupiter. Pay attention to how the Mars sq to Neptune and Jupiter is playing out in your life because current events are now likely to put that into the forefront of your day-to-day life.
Mars is action, drive, passion, the impulse to act, and it is transforming into tension due to lack of clarity and/or too much wishful thinking. The risk here is that we are being carried away by a powerful desire to act but our steps/plan have not been checked against the objective reality. The danger is to go all-in (floor the gas pedal, so to speak) led by a vision that does not amount to more than a beautiful hangover - one morning we might wake up to realise that all the Martian strength of our desires is actually not enough to move the mountains. Or, in other words, beware of feeling so light and happy that you fall under the illusion that if you jump, you will fly. "Jump and the net will appear" is not a good approach with so much Neptune and Jupiter in the air. The square to Mars indicates that the consequences of miscalculation will be painful.
In the 2nd half of the Season, we will see Mercury (on Dec 7th) and Venus (on Dec 10th) move into Capricorn, laying the foundations of what Cap Season will bring into our lives and slowly starting to tighten in on a conjunction with Pluto who is wrapping up his sojourn in Capricorn. Of note, Mercury will go Rx in Capricorn, so be mindful of what begins to unfold from Dec 7th onwards in terms of communication, contracts, information, knowledge and media.
With regard to Venus, this is the last time that she will conjoin Pluto in the sign of Capricorn for at least another 200 years! Next year, when Venus enters Cap, Pluto will have just entered 0 Aquarius so the conjunction will take place in the sign of Aquarius. And in 2024, Pluto will briefly step back into 29 of Cap at the same time in which Venus will be in Cap too, but Pluto will leave Cap and re-enter Aquarius before the two planets meet (Venus will be at around 15 of Cap when Pluto enters 0 Aquarius). Look back to what was going on in your life around December 10th last year (2021) when Venus stationed Rx in conjunction with Pluto in Cap to get ideas about what might unfold again. Around March 3rd 2022, the two planets met again in Cap - that's the other time frame that you can have a look at to see what themes might re-emerge.
And lastly, we are still within eclipse energy. The powerful eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio have triggered events that will most visibly begin to unfold in the month after the eclipses so in Sag Season. Eclipses are big endings and beginnings which in this case will take place under a very dominant Neptune/Jupiter vs Mars energy.
